England VS India Day 3 Test Match- Result

That was quick. Rain has the final say on day 3, play has been called off with England still 70 runs in arrears. But we did get to see quite a bit of action and it was thrilling stuff. Resuming at 125 for 4, India rods on KL Rahul’s masterful 84, Ravindra Jadeja’s sublime 56 and handy contributions from the tail to finish with 278, an overall lead of 95 runs. The heartening aspect of India’s batting would be the latter. Long chastised for their inability to show any kind of skills with the bat, they ensured that the visitors added vital runs for the last three wickets, 72 in total, as India bounced back from 205 for 7. Ollie Robinson’s 5 for 85 was the highlight of England’s bowling performance which also saw James Anderson go past Anil Kumble’s 619 Test wickets to become the third most prolific bowler. While the Indians did add vital runs with the tail, it was becoming evident that the pitch was finally settling down, further demonstrated by the two openers who didn’t need to answer too many pressing questions. They knocked off 25 from the deficit before the rains came down. Right – it sets up for a grandstand finish – India will come out fresh tomorrow and will hope for good bowling conditions. On the other hand, England would love for the sun to come out. The forecast isn’t flashy and that adds another aspect into the game. Do join us at 11 am for Day 4. For now, cheers and bye..
